Government College for Women, Lakhan Majra Organizes Two-Day Programme on National Sports Day

Government College for Women, Lakhan Majra organized a two-day sports and health-related programme on August 29 and 31 on the occasion of National Sports Day. The programme was organized under the guidance of the college Principal, Mrs. Indu Sapra, and coordinated by Mr. Sachin Dalal, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education.
On the first day, rope skipping was organized for the students as a sporting activity. Along with this, a yoga activity was also conducted to encourage students towards regular sports and exercise and to make them aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
During the programme, the life, achievements and contribution of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand to Indian sports were highlighted. Students participated enthusiastically in activities such as rope skipping, yoga, and carrom board.
All participants took part in the activities with great enthusiasm, energy and sportsmanship. It was particularly noteworthy that the non-teaching staff of the college also actively participated in various sporting activities. The participation of teachers further encouraged the students and motivated them towards regular physical activity and exercise as an integral part of their daily lives.
The two-day programme organized on National Sports Day aimed to promote awareness among students about sports, discipline, teamwork, physical fitness and healthy living. Activities including rope skipping, yoga and carrom board, along with inspiration drawn from the life of Major Dhyan Chand, conveyed the message of making sports and physical activity an important part of everyday life.
The active participation of students and staff members contributed to the successful completion of the programme.
