World Entrepreneurship Day 2026 Celebrated at GCW Lakhan Majra

Various activities were organized at Government College for Women (GCW), Lakhan Majra, on the occasion of World Entrepreneurship Day 2026 to create awareness among students about entrepreneurship, innovation, creative thinking, and self-employment. The students participated enthusiastically and showed keen interest in exploring new ideas and possibilities for innovation.
The programme was organized in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Higher Education, Haryana. The students were encouraged to develop their innovative ideas, transform them into practical solutions, and explore new employment opportunities through entrepreneurship.
The programme was organized under the guidance of the Principal, Mrs. Indu Sapra. The students were apprised of the importance of entrepreneurship and the growing opportunities in this field in the changing times. The Principal motivated the students to have confidence in their talent and creative abilities, pursue new ideas, and work towards becoming self-reliant.
As part of the initiative, students were encouraged to register and actively participate in Gen-H Ideathon 2026 to ensure maximum participation from the college. As per the directions issued by the Department of Higher Education, the Gen-H programme was organized at Gurugram University on 21 August 2026, with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana as the Chief Guest. The programme was scheduled for 12:00 noon. A live-streaming facility was also arranged at the college so that students could connect directly with the important event and gain insights into entrepreneurship and innovation.
The students were particularly encouraged to use the Ideathon platform to present their creative and innovative ideas and connect them with solutions to social and practical problems. The initiative aimed not only to develop a mindset of seeking employment but also to foster the spirit of employment generation, innovation, and entrepreneurship among students.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Anjali Mann, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Dr. Naveen, Parveen Punia, and Dr. Vinod, Assistant Professors. The coordinators motivated the students to participate actively in the various activities, register for the programme, and bring forward their innovative ideas.
The activities organized in connection with World Entrepreneurship Day and Gen-H Ideathon 2026 provided students with an opportunity to understand how a good idea can be transformed into a successful future enterprise through proper planning, creativity, technological understanding, and consistent effort. The programme made a meaningful contribution towards fostering innovation, confidence, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance among the students of GCW Lakhan Majra.
