Objectives
• To provide a safe, secure and dignified environment for women in the College.
• To prevent and address sexual harassment and related complaints.
• To provide an appropriate mechanism for receiving and dealing with complaints.
• To promote awareness regarding prevention of sexual harassment.
• To promote gender sensitivity, dignity and respect within the College.
Functions
The Committee shall deal with complaints falling within its assigned mandate and undertake appropriate action in accordance with the applicable rules, regulations and instructions. It shall also undertake awareness and sensitisation activities relating to prevention of sexual harassment.
Complaint Mechanism
Any eligible aggrieved woman may submit a complaint to the Internal Complaints Committee in accordance with the applicable provisions and prescribed procedure.
Complaints shall be dealt with appropriately and confidentiality shall be maintained as required under the applicable rules.
Awareness and Sensitisation
The Committee may organise awareness programmes, workshops, lectures and other sensitisation activities for students and employees regarding prevention of sexual harassment, gender sensitivity and a safe working/learning environment.
